Prof. dr hab. Mateusz Stróżyński
Filolog klasyczny, filozof, psycholog i psychoterapeuta. Obronił doktorat poświęcony filozofii Plotyna na Wydziale Filologii Polskiej i Klasycznej (2007) i uzyskał habilitację na podstawie książki Filozofia jako terapia w pismach Marka Aureliusza, Plotyna i Augustyna (2014). Tytuł profesora nauk humanistycznych otrzymał w roku 2025.
Od 2021 jest dyrektorem Instytutu Filologii Klasycznej UAM. Zajmował się późnoantycznym neoplatonizmem (Plotyn i Augustyn), a zwłaszcza zagadnieniem ćwiczeń duchowych i kontemplacji. Bada również tradycję platońską na przestrzeni wieków i recepcję antycznego neoplatonizmu w mistyce średniowiecznej, we wczesnej nowożytności i romantyzmie oraz w twórczości oksfordzkich Inklingów.
Jest certyfikowanym superwizorem Polskiego Towarzystwa Psychoterapii Psychodynamicznej oraz International Society for the Transference-focused Psychotherapy. Prowadzi prywatną praktykę psychoterapeutyczną. Jest redaktorem czasopisma Psychotherapia psychodynamiczna w Polsce.
Współtworzył i redaguje internetowe czasopismo Antigone popularyzujące antyk (https://antigonejournal.com/). Wraz z Edmundem Stewartem (University of Notthingham) jest współzałożycielem interdyscyplinarnej sieci badawczej Tyrannica, poświęconej badaniu autorytaryzmu od antyku po czasy współczesne (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/csps/research/tyrannica.aspx). Jest członkiem Cambridge Centre for the Study of Platonism.

Classical philologist, philosopher, psychologist, and psychotherapist. He earned his PhD with a dissertation on the philosophy of Plotinus at the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology (2007) and obtained his habilitation degree on the basis of the book Philosophy as Therapy in the Writings of Marcus Aurelius, Plotinus, and Augustine (in Polish, 2014). He was awarded the full professorship in 2025.
Since 2021, he has been the Director of the Institute of Classical Philology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. His research has focused on Late Antique Neoplatonism (Plotinus and Augustine), particularly on the issues of spiritual exercises and contemplation. He also studies the Platonic tradition through the centuries and the reception of ancient Neoplatonism in medieval mysticism, early modern thought, Romanticism, and the writings of the Oxford Inklings.
He is a certified supervisor of the Polish Society for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and the International Society for Transference-Focused Psychotherapy. He runs a private psychotherapy practice and serves as editor of the journal Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in Poland.
He co-founded and co-edits the online journal Antigone, which popularizes classical antiquity (https://antigonejournal.com/). Together with Edmund Stewart (University of Notthingham), he is co-founder of the interdisciplinary research network Tyrannica, dedicated to the study of authoritarianism from antiquity to the present day (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/csps/research/tyrannica.aspx). He is a member of the Cambridge Centre for the Study of Platonism.
